Using the lens of the AASL Standards Frameworks for Learners, we will examine the role of manga, comics, and graphic novels to promote literacy and learning. Participants will not only learn about the power of these genres but they will also be exposed to the language of the AASL Shared Foundations.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will gain the knowledge and tools required to foster a culture of reading and advocate for the acceptance of manga, comics, and graphic novels in their collections.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the connections manga, comics, and graphic novels have to learning and critical thinking.
Participants will be empowered to support learner growth and personalize learning experiences.
