Makerspaces are learning spaces for collaboration, open-ended exploration, and creation for all. These spaces have grown in popularity in school libraries. When looking at open-ended exploration and creation for all, are we truly including all students and patrons in our communities when we integrate makerspaces? This study investigates the level of accessibility offered in school library makerspaces across the United States. In this presentation, engage with makerspace accessibility, universal design, and work through real-world scenarios. Presenters will also offer information and findings on school library makerspaces and accessibility in the US.
