Description
Meet your new National School Library Standards for Learners, School Librarians, and School Libraries! Join AASL Standards editorial board and implementation task force chairs Marcia A. Mardis and Mary Keeling on a guided tour of the standards development process as well as in-depth introductions to the National School Library Standards (NSLS) integrated content designed to support and enhance learners' experiences, school librarians' practice, and the alignment between school libraries and learning goals. Marcia and Mary will take you through the main components of the document; provide an overview of the implementation plan; and highlight opportunities for you to engage with the new standards while thinking, creating, sharing, and growing!
Learning Objectives:
- Be able to describe the motivations for and main components of the NSLS;
- Be aware of the NSLS implementation plan's opportunities for professional engagement;
- Gain familiarity with ways in which the NSLS aim to support learning, assessment, and evaluation, in and through the profession and the school library.
