In the era of “fake news,” how can students be better analysts and creators of infographics and visualizations? Simple strategies like, “Check the y-axis -- it may not start at zero!” have helped high school librarians and students make progress in engaging with visual information around them. We’ll share high-impact rules of thumb that can be inserted into existing information literacy lessons to improve critical thinking and comprehension.
