Mirah J. Dow is associate professor and director of the PhD program at the School of Library and Information Management, Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. She is chair of the education contact committee for the Kansas Association of School Librarians and director of the Kansas Summer Institute for School Librarians. In 2013 she and Dr. Kenneth Thompson received ESU’s Audrey S. Major Research Fund Award for their shared research in STEM-Information Literacy. In 2012, the AASL Affiliate Assembly Commendation was awarded to ESU’s School of Library and Information Management in recognition of the Kansas Summer Institute for School Librarians programming. Her recent publications include School Libraries Matter: Views from the Research (Libraries Unlimited 2013). She is also a member of AASL.
