Amy Jo Southworth is a school librarian at Bay Shore High School in Bay Shore, New York. She taught high school English for twelve years in New York and New Mexico before earning an MLS degree from Queens College, where she also works as an adjunct instructor. She is the president of the Suffolk School Library Media Association. In 2013 she was awarded the Frances Henne Award and named an ALA Emerging Leader. Amy Jo was also named T.H.E. Journal Innovator of the Month in April 2013. She recently had an article, “Poised to Partner: The 21st-Century School Librarian,” published in English Journal.
