Dr. Elizabeth Burns

Assistant Professor, Old Dominion University

Elizabeth Burns is an assistant professor at Old Dominion University. She is a member of AASL and serves as the co-editor of School Library Research. She is also a member of the AASL CAEP Coordinating Committee, the ALA Committee on Education, and co-chair of the ACRL Standards Committee. She authored the 2020 School Library Research article “Reflective School Library Practitioners: Use of Journaling to Strengthen Practice,” the 2020 Teacher Librarian article “New School Librarians: Finding Community in Practice,” and the 2020 School Libraries Worldwide article “AASL National School Library Standards: Progress toward Implementation.” She also coauthored the 2020 School Library Research article “Pre-service School Librarians’ Perceptions of Research Pedagogy: An Exploratory Study.” She was awarded the 2019 Darden College of Education Sara and Rufus Tonelson Award.
