Kristina Graves is a teacher librarian currently working at Mont Pleasant Middle School in Schenectady City School District, Schenectady, NY. She received her Masters of Library and Information Science Degree from SUNY Albany in 2008. Kristina started her career in Salt Lake City, Utah where she obtained her International Baccalaureate Librarian Certificate while working at an IB High School and is currently working towards National Board Certification. Kristina is a passionate advocate for progressive school library programs with flexible learning environments and schedules. She’s well versed in a variety of tools that help guide all learners toward becoming competent users of information and informed decision makers. She integrates the AASL Standard and instruction into content areas across the curriculum to create a powerful learning experience. In addition, she’s involved in other professional affiliations which include the Capital Region Chamber Young Professionals Network Program: Steering Committee, Schenectady Federation of Teachers: Executive Committee, and the Junior League of Schenectady & Saratoga County: Board Member.
