Teacher Librarian, DeLaveaga Elementary School, Santa Cruz City Schools
Tony Augimeri is an elementary teacher librarian at DeLaveaga School in Santa Cruz, California. He has been an educator for 39 years—14 years as a classroom teacher working at both the high school and elementary school levels. He worked as a bilingual teacher for many years before receiving his degree in library science and taking on his assignment as a school librarian. In his current assignment he provides resources and instruction for a two-way Spanish-English immersion program of over 300 students, in addition to the mainstream program housed on campus. He is the technology coach for his school site and has worked alongside his district level library colleagues on district and state committees to promote and develop strong library programs K-12. He is very pleased to have been able to attend the 2015 AASL conference in Columbus.
