Maegen Rose is the middle school librarian and a grade 5 advisor at Rye Country Day School in New York. As a school librarian, she is committed to helping students develop strong information literacy and critical thinking skills. Through interactive library classes and classroom project support, she helps students strengthen their research skills, ethical use of information, and hone their ability to identify and refute propaganda. She empowers students to find themselves in stories by fostering a love of reading that is steeped in diverse, inclusive, and #ownvoices literature.
Rose received a Bachelor’s degree from Pitzer College and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Chicago and Library and Information Science from Dominican University. She recently completed committee appointments on the AASL Presidential Initiative Task Force and ALSC Budget Committee.
